Essilor Focuses on Predictive Analytics For Virtual Data Center Management

Global Ophthalmic Pioneer Chooses Netuitive for Increased Visibility, Automation and Real-Time Analysis Supporting Supply Chain Management

RESTON – August 3, 2011 Netuitive, Inc., which provides the leading IT analytics platform for virtualization and cloud management, today announced a software licensing agreement with Essilor International, the world leader in ophthalmic optical products.

Essilor is currently deploying Netuitive’s predictive analytics software platform to monitor end-to-end performance and capacity management as part of their large virtual data center in France.  Netuitive will automate threshold administration, reduce alert storms, and enable proactive management.

Essilor chose Netuitive for its ability to perform real-time analysis of resource utilization from hundreds of different angles with the goal of optimized infrastructure, improved performance and cost savings.

“As our virtualization consolidation initiative continues to grow, we need to gain much better visibility into our virtualized environment to prevent service outages and to improve operations efficiency,” said Frédéric Damez, Chief Technology Officer, Essilor.  “Netuitive’s predictive analytics platform will give us the visibility, automation and real-time analysis to enable a proactive approach for managing our virtualized environment in context to the business impact on our critical services.”

“Going forward, we are evaluating Netuitive’s analytics-based approach for expansion globally on all our physical and virtualized servers and across other areas of infrastructure, such as storage and network, as we move up the stack into the customer experience and applications.”

Using its patented Behavior Learning EngineTM, Netuitive software replaces manual, rules-based approaches with statistical analysis that automatically correlates and self-learns the operational behavior of IT systems and applications.  It then forecasts issues before they impact performance and isolates root cause wherever a problem occurs.

Categorized as “transformational” by Gartner, Behavior Learning technology, which is at the core of the Netuitive solution, is being recognized as a key advancement for overcoming major performance issues connected to virtualization and cloud computing.1, 2

“Essilor’s IT environment is representative of the large enterprise customers we serve,” said Nicola Sanna, president and CEO of Netuitive.  “An analytics-based approach is the only way to effectively monitor large virtualized environments and achieve true end-to-end performance and capacity management across a heterogeneous enterprise.”
