Netuitive Lands Another Top 10 Banking Customer
Predictive Analytics Leader Now Serves 8 of the World’s 10 Largest Banks
RESTON– January 18, 2011 — Netuitive, Inc., a leading provider of predictive analytics software for IT, today announced a software licensing agreement with another major bank. Netuitive now provides predictive IT analytics and cloud management software solutions to 8 of the 10 largest banks as ranked by the size of their assets.
Under terms of the agreement with the new banking customer, Netuitive’s predictive analytics software will support the bank’s virtual data center (VDC) consisting of virtual hosting infrastructure as well as virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). The scope of this implementation includes monitoring and management of 120,000 instances of VMware virtual machines across multiple storage and network platforms. The bank’s virtual data center architecture is designed to deliver an autonomic computing functionality to optimize the allocation of resources in real-time based on application needs.
The major banks that Netuitive serves represent some of the largest production deployments of virtualization in the world serving mission critical applications such as online banking, trading applications, or payment systems where any service degradation or downtime translates to significant business loss.
A common management challenge in such mission-critical virtual data centers is to understand the performance of virtualized infrastructure (comprised of virtualization hosts, networks and storage systems) in the context of the guest operating system, middleware, and applications that are being supported. This challenge is initially manifested when manually trouble shooting and planning capacity requirements for mission-critical applications in a virtual data center. Later, the need for such cross-platform management becomes a requirement when the virtualized infrastructure resources need to be dynamically allocated based on the needs of the middleware and application layers, in a private cloud computing environment.
Using its patented Behavior Learning Engine™, Netuitive software replaces manual, rules-based methods for performance monitoring with automated statistical analysis that correlates and self-learns the operational behavior of IT systems and applications. It then forecasts issues before they impact performance and isolates root cause wherever a problem occurs. By integrating with nearly all of the industry’s leading monitoring tools including VMware, HP, Microsoft, BMC, IBM, and CA, Netuitive is able to provide a holistic view across physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures enabling these big organizations to manage performance and capacity proactively.
One global corporation, highlighted in a case study by Gartner, is applying Netuitive to monitor more than 1 million data points simultaneously. Netuitive’s predictive analytics approach has enabled it to eliminate 3,480 hours annually in service degradations, automate the equivalent effort of 28 workers, and achieve a business savings of $18 million annually.
"The industry used to view virtualization as a platform to support testing and development environments. However, in recent months, we have helped major banks deploy large scale virtualization to support the most demanding and mission-critical financial applications," said Daniel Heimlich, vice president, Netuitive. "Netuitive’s predictive analytics provides the intelligence, visibility and control necessary for these banks to proactively monitor and manage these environments to prevent outages and slowdowns that can mean significant losses."
"This win is especially gratifying considering Netuitive was chosen over all other established management products for virtualization," he added.
Netuitive provides predictive analytics software for IT. Netuitive replaces human guesswork with automated mathematics and analysis to forecast, identify and resolve IT performance issues before they impact quality of service. Hundreds of customers, including eight of the 10 largest banks, rely on Netuitive to proactively manage the performance and capacity of their their IT infrastructures -- physical, virtual and cloud. Industry recognition includes the 2010 CODiE Award for “Best Systems Management Solution,” the 2010 EMA Award for “Best Analytics,” and the 2009 “Best of VMworld” Award for Virtualization Management.
